If you can make it to San Diego this weekend, come down to the ASR Trade Expo at the Convention Center downtown for the Grind for Life High Ollie Contest and Framed Art show/silent auction!
DC is presenting Friday afternoon's high ollie contest, which will award $1,500 to the highest ollie over the DC barrier. A rep from Guinness World Records will be on hand in case things get to that level (January's comp saw the winner clearing the 44" bar). The competition area will be outside the doors of the trade show, so even if you don't have a fancy trade show badge you can still check it out. Just head up the stairs to enter or to watch the pop-off go down.
In addition to providing the contest's cash prize money, DC will donate an additional $1,500 to Grind for Life and its efforts in the winner's name.
Also, all weekend in the Grind for Life Chill Zone there will be a photo show / silent auction featuring prints from The Skateboard Mag photographers and others. Dubbed Framed, roll though to check out and bid on pieces from J.Grant Brittain, Dave Swift, Mike Blabac, Atiba Jefferson, Anthony Acosta, Matt Price and Ray Zimmerman (MRZ).
Again, proceeds from the Framed silent auction will go straight to Grind for Life.
