January 25, 2010 – Vancouver, BC – In celebration of the Underworld Shops 14th anniversary, DC and
Underworld have teamed up to collaborate on a limited run color way of the Match Mid shoe. Only 200 pairs
of the shoe will be available exclusively in store or online at ww.underworld-shop.com. Underworld will offer
the limited run shoes to its core skate customer base in both Vancouver and Montreal locations.
The project first began eight months ago when DC sales rep Josh Banks and Underworld owner Alex
Bastide wanted to create a shoe to celebrate Underworlds anniversary. The existing technical skate
features and undeniable street silhouette of the Match Mid were a perfect fit to commemorate the
Underworld store. The high top design of the Match Mid also checked out amongst the DC Skate team.
"Underworld and DC have come together to create this unique color way which is more than just a good
looking shoe” says Josh Banks, DC shoes western Canadian sales rep. “The Match Mid is a technical
skate shoe, packed inside with a light weight mesh tongue, super suede and DC patented pill pattern cup
sole. Underworld was a perfect fit with locations in the heart of the Canadian skate community on both
coasts. Alex has positioned his shop at the fore front of the skate scene in these cities by putting on
contests, demos and sponsoring local skaters. In addition, Underworld also sponsors DC Canada skate
team riders Chad Dickson, Micky Papa and Jai Ball.

Match Mid is an ideal shoe for skating or styling around the streets. Our team has put this shoe to the test
and was more than happy with its performance."
The Vancouver release party is taking place Friday, February 5th at the Underworld shop at 1043 Granville
