In support of the nonprofit action sports organization Stoked Mentoring, DC sponsored Stoked Awards, which went down on Wednesday night at the Red Bull Space in New York City. More than 300 attendees showed up for the annual fundraising event. Sal Masekela was on hand hosting the event and began an impromptu donation spree that raised $12,000 in a matters of minutes for Stoked. All monies raised went directly back to Stoked Mentoring.
The organization is a mentoring program that works with Stoked at risk youth in New York City and Los Angeles, and aims to teach kids life lessons and support through skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding. To find out more about Stoked go to stoked.org.
